SourceRank AI vs iPullRank: which should you hire?
iPullRank was named in 4.5% of answers on our own tracked set of 100 buying questions, which makes them joint fourth most-named in our set, level with Peec AI. Here is what each of us actually sells, what each costs, and where they are the better choice than us.

Why companies choose SourceRank AI over iPullRank
We do the work, not the deck
Their centre of gravity is strategy for teams who then execute it. Ours is execution for teams who have nobody to hand a fix list to.
Priced for smaller companies
$997 a month is a different order of magnitude from an enterprise engagement, and it is published.
One measured question set
We track the same buyer questions every run so a change is comparable rather than anecdotal.
What iPullRank actually is
An enterprise and mid-market AI search agency led by Mike King. They sell Generative Engine Optimization, what they call Relevance Engineering, content strategy, technical SEO and content engineering, and their framing is that relevance opens the door while resonance keeps you in the room. Clients include Target, Under Armour, American Express, Adidas, CVS Pharmacy and MLB.
What they say they deliver
- Generative Engine Optimization
- Relevance Engineering
- Content strategy and content engineering
- Technical SEO
- AI search strategy programmes

Everything in the iPullRank column was read from their own public pages on 18 September 2026. "Not published" means exactly that: we could not find it stated publicly, not that it does not exist. If we have something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
Where iPullRank is the better choice
Technical depth and genuine original research. Mike King is one of the people actually defining this category rather than repackaging it, and their published work on how retrieval and relevance work in LLM search is ahead of most of the market including us. On a complex enterprise site with hard technical problems, they are the stronger choice and we would say so on a call.
Who each one is right for
Choose iPullRank if: Enterprise brands with complex sites and in-house teams who want deep technical AI search strategy and original research.
Choose SourceRank AI if: Smaller B2B companies who want the work done rather than advised, at a price they can see up front.
If you are not sure you need either, our buying guide sets out what to ask any AEO provider, and who we are not a fit for is deliberately blunt about when to walk away from us.
How we counted who AI names
Every share-of-answers figure on this page comes from one published run: 100 unbranded buying questions, run on 12 September 2026 across 5 answer engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews), producing 485 answers. We counted how often each provider was named in the answer text itself.
Two caveats we would want if we were reading this. It measures our question set, so it describes who gets recommended for the questions we track, not who is best at the work. And one run carries noise: we have seen an identical question set move by a point between runs three days apart, which is why we re-measure on a cadence instead of quoting a single number. The full method is at our benchmark methodology.
Common questions
Can SourceRank AI do everything iPullRank does?
No, and it would be dishonest to say otherwise. Technical depth and genuine original research. What we do is narrower and deeper: AEO as the only service, priced openly, measured on a fixed question set across five engines. If the wider scope is what you need, hire them.
How often do AI assistants actually name iPullRank?
On our own tracked set of 100 unbranded buying questions run across 5 answer engines on 12 September 2026, iPullRank was named in 22 of 485 answers, or 4.5%, across 15 distinct questions. That makes them joint fourth most-named in our set, level with Peec AI. It measures our question set rather than ranking agencies, and a different question set would give different numbers.
How does pricing compare with iPullRank?
Not published. Enterprise engagements for them. SourceRank AI publishes every tier: a $497 one-time AI Visibility Audit, credited against your first month, then $997, $1,700 or $2,500 a month depending on scope. The audit exists so you can find out whether AI visibility is even a problem for you before committing to anything monthly.
How do I know the measurement is real and not marketing?
Because you can check it. We publish the method: how many questions, which engines, how often a run repeats, and how much a number moves between runs on an identical question set. We have seen an identical set move by a point in three days, and we say so, because a provider who only ever shows you the good run is not showing you a measurement.
What if my buyers' questions do not return any provider at all?
That happens more than people expect. On a meaningful share of questions every engine answers with a do-it-yourself walkthrough and names nobody. Nobody can win those, and any agency quoting you a score without separating them is averaging in questions that cannot move. We check that first, and if your category is mostly unwinnable today we will tell you rather than sell you a retainer.
Can I use iPullRank and SourceRank AI together?
Usually yes, and for the wider-scope work it can make sense. The one thing to avoid is paying two providers to do the same off-site citation work, because the effort does not stack, it collides. If you are already working with them, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether we would be adding anything.
Start by finding out where you actually stand
Before hiring anyone, including us, find out whether your buying questions return a provider at all and who is named instead of you today. That is what the $497 audit answers, and it is credited against your first month if you carry on. Get your visibility scorecard, or see every comparison.
