SourceRank AI vs First Page Sage: which should you hire?
First Page Sage was named in 8.7% of answers on our own tracked set of 100 buying questions, which makes them the most-named provider in our entire measured set, ahead of every software platform. Here is what each of us actually sells, what each costs, and where they are the better choice than us.

Why companies choose SourceRank AI over First Page Sage
You can see the price
Ours is on the pricing page: $497 to start, $997 to $2,500 a month. Theirs needs a call. That is not a criticism of them, it is a real difference in how long it takes to decide.
You can check the method
We publish how a run is built, how many questions, which engines, and how much a number moves between runs. Nobody can audit a measurement they cannot see.
AEO is the whole business
For them it is one service line beside SEO. For us it is the only thing we sell, which cuts both ways and is the honest trade below.
What First Page Sage actually is
An integrated SEO and GEO agency selling content marketing and lead generation. They describe the work as turning a website into a full-funnel organic lead generation system, with in-house writers producing thought leadership, and they say they hold themselves accountable for qualified leads and ROI rather than rankings. Seventeen or more years in the market, no long-term contracts, and an enterprise client roster that includes Salesforce, Logitech, Verizon and US Bank.
What they say they deliver
- Full AEO audit of how prospects use answer engines
- Authoritative positioning content
- Technical implementation: structured data and schema
- Continuous optimization across search and answer engines
- Publicising awards, accreditations and usage statistics
- Strategic coordination with wider marketing

Everything in the First Page Sage column was read from their own public pages on 18 September 2026. "Not published" means exactly that: we could not find it stated publicly, not that it does not exist. If we have something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
Where First Page Sage is the better choice
Reach and track record, and it is not close. Roughly 7,600 referring domains against our 20, seventeen years of published content behind them, and enterprise logos we cannot match. They are also the single most-named provider in our whole measured set, which is exactly the position that content footprint should buy them. If you want one agency covering SEO and AEO together at enterprise scale, with a long reference list, they are a reasonable answer and we are not.
Who each one is right for
Choose First Page Sage if: Enterprise and upper mid-market companies wanting SEO and GEO under one roof, with a long reference list and full-funnel lead accountability.
Choose SourceRank AI if: Companies who want AEO specifically, want the price before the call, and want the measurement method open to inspection.
If you are not sure you need either, our buying guide sets out what to ask any AEO provider, and who we are not a fit for is deliberately blunt about when to walk away from us.
How we counted who AI names
Every share-of-answers figure on this page comes from one published run: 100 unbranded buying questions, run on 12 September 2026 across 5 answer engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews), producing 485 answers. We counted how often each provider was named in the answer text itself.
Two caveats we would want if we were reading this. It measures our question set, so it describes who gets recommended for the questions we track, not who is best at the work. And one run carries noise: we have seen an identical question set move by a point between runs three days apart, which is why we re-measure on a cadence instead of quoting a single number. The full method is at our benchmark methodology.
Common questions
Can SourceRank AI do everything First Page Sage does?
No, and it would be dishonest to say otherwise. Reach and track record, and it is not close. What we do is narrower and deeper: AEO as the only service, priced openly, measured on a fixed question set across five engines. If the wider scope is what you need, hire them.
How often do AI assistants actually name First Page Sage?
On our own tracked set of 100 unbranded buying questions run across 5 answer engines on 12 September 2026, First Page Sage was named in 42 of 485 answers, or 8.7%, across 19 distinct questions. That makes them the most-named provider in our entire measured set, ahead of every software platform. It measures our question set rather than ranking agencies, and a different question set would give different numbers.
How does pricing compare with First Page Sage?
Not published for them. SourceRank AI publishes every tier: a $497 one-time AI Visibility Audit, credited against your first month, then $997, $1,700 or $2,500 a month depending on scope. The audit exists so you can find out whether AI visibility is even a problem for you before committing to anything monthly.
How do I know the measurement is real and not marketing?
Because you can check it. We publish the method: how many questions, which engines, how often a run repeats, and how much a number moves between runs on an identical question set. We have seen an identical set move by a point in three days, and we say so, because a provider who only ever shows you the good run is not showing you a measurement.
What if my buyers' questions do not return any provider at all?
That happens more than people expect. On a meaningful share of questions every engine answers with a do-it-yourself walkthrough and names nobody. Nobody can win those, and any agency quoting you a score without separating them is averaging in questions that cannot move. We check that first, and if your category is mostly unwinnable today we will tell you rather than sell you a retainer.
Can I use First Page Sage and SourceRank AI together?
Usually yes, and for the wider-scope work it can make sense. The one thing to avoid is paying two providers to do the same off-site citation work, because the effort does not stack, it collides. If you are already working with them, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether we would be adding anything.
Start by finding out where you actually stand
Before hiring anyone, including us, find out whether your buying questions return a provider at all and who is named instead of you today. That is what the $497 audit answers, and it is credited against your first month if you carry on. Get your visibility scorecard, or see every comparison.
